PASIC 2025: 50 Years of Rhythm, Community, and Innovation
This November, percussionists from around the world will gather in Indianapolis for PASIC 2025, celebrating 50 years of rhythm, education, and community. For drummers like me, it’s more than a convention—it’s a reminder that percussion is a global language, connecting us across stages, classrooms, and cultures.
Since its start in 1976, PASIC has been the heartbeat of the percussion world. It’s where legends share wisdom, new voices break through, and the industry unveils its latest innovations. The 2025 edition—PASIC50—is historic, marking half a century of percussion excellence.
This year’s lineup underscores PASIC’s reputation for diversity and excellence:
Galactic with Stanton Moore and Jelly Joseph — headlining funk performance on November 15
Jeff Hamilton Trio — jazz mastery from one of the genre’s most respected drummers
Dafnis Prieto & Sí o Sí Quartet — blending Afro-Cuban rhythms with modern jazz
Gregg Bissonette — versatile session legend
Nikki Glaspie — powerhouse drummer known for work with Beyoncé and Snarky Puppy
Matt Billingslea — Taylor Swift’s touring drummer
Jerrod “J-rod” Sullivan — social media phenom bringing modern drumming to new audiences
Lessons for Musicians and Entrepreneurs
PASIC reminds me of three truths:
Timing is everything — whether on stage or in launching a brand.
Community is the audience — without connection, there’s no impact.
Innovation keeps the groove alive — from new drumming techniques to fresh business ideas.
PASIC 2025 is proof that percussion is more than music—it’s movement, identity, and community. And as always, the groove must go on.
