From Drum Kit to Business Desk: How Rhythm Shapes My Hustle
Running multiple businesses while leading bands like Hand of the Tribe and the roosters isn’t just about juggling tasks—it’s about finding rhythm in chaos. As a drummer, I’ve learned that the same principles that keep a groove tight on stage can keep a brand strong in the marketplace. Rhythm isn’t just music; it’s a way of living, managing, and creating.
Timing Is Everything
On stage, one beat too late and the whole band feels it. In business, timing matters just as much—whether it’s launching a new product, responding to a customer, or seizing a marketing trend.
I remember a gig where the crowd was restless, waiting for us to start. We could have delayed, but instead we jumped in with energy. That decision set the tone for the night. Similarly, when I launched a new menu item at my urban food spot, I didn’t wait for “perfect conditions.” I trusted the timing, and the community responded with excitement.
“Don’t wait for perfection. Trust your instincts, act decisively, and let momentum carry you forward.”
Drumming isn’t about hitting harder—it’s about playing smarter. The same goes for managing people and projects.
Early in my career, I tried to control every detail. It was exhausting, and honestly, it killed creativity. Over time, I realized that when I stop forcing outcomes and instead create flow—clear communication, authentic branding, and trust—things move naturally, like a groove that carries the crowd.
Build systems that allow flow. Empower your team, set the groove, and let them improvise within it.
Community Is the Audience
A band without an audience is just rehearsal. A business without community is just a transaction.
When we played in Orlando with Rádio Vibe, the energy wasn’t just from the band— Same happened in poland with hand of the tribe, it was from the people dancing, shouting, and living the music with us. That’s the same energy I aim to create in any businesses.
Don’t just sell products—build identity.
Whether I’m behind the drum kit or behind the counter, I’m chasing the same goal: creating rhythm that resonates. Business, like music, is about energy, timing, and connection. And when you get it right, the groove becomes unstoppable.
So if you’re building something—whether it’s a band, a brand, or a community—remember: find your rhythm, trust your timing, and let the groove carry you forward
The groove must go on!!!
